Export formats
Qvista supports four file formats for exporting visualizations, charts, and dashboards.Download any dashboard or chart as a high-quality PDF, ready for distribution in meetings, email attachments, or printed reports
Excel (.xlsx)
Export the underlying data table and analysis results to Excel format so recipients can perform further calculations or pivot analysis
CSV
Download raw data as a comma-separated values file — compatible with any data processing tool, database import workflow, or archival system
PNG / JPEG
Save individual charts as image files for use in presentations, slide decks, email bodies, or document reports
Customizable export layouts
Before you download a PDF or image, apply your organization’s branding to ensure exported reports look professional and consistent.- Company logo: Upload your logo once in Workspace Settings and Qvista places it automatically on every exported PDF in your chosen position (top-left, top-center, or top-right).
- Color scheme: Exported PDFs inherit the custom theme you have applied to the dashboard, including your brand’s primary and accent colors.
- Headers and footers: Add a header with the report title, date range, and department name. Add a footer with page numbers, a confidentiality notice, or a custom message. Configure the content and font of each independently.
- Annotations: Include text annotations on charts before exporting to provide additional context — for example, explaining a spike in a line chart or flagging a data quality caveat.
Scheduled and automated exports
Eliminate manual reporting tasks by scheduling Qvista to generate and deliver reports automatically on a recurring basis.Scheduling a recurring export
Open the dashboard to schedule
Navigate to the dashboard you want to automate. Click the Export button and select Schedule Export from the dropdown menu.
Choose your file format and layout
Select the export format (PDF, Excel, or CSV). If you chose PDF, configure your branding options — logo, header, footer, and color scheme — or select a saved Export Template.
Set the recurrence schedule
Choose how often the export should run: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or a custom cron expression for more precise timing. Set the time of day and time zone. For monthly reports, choose whether to run on a fixed date (e.g., the 1st of every month) or a relative day (e.g., the last business day of the month).
Add recipients
Enter the email addresses of everyone who should receive the report. Recipients do not need a Qvista account — they receive the exported file as an attachment. Add a custom subject line and email body message to give context to each delivery.
Configure the data snapshot
Choose whether the scheduled export should use the data as it exists at the moment of delivery, or apply a fixed filter — for example, always exporting the previous calendar month’s data regardless of when the schedule runs.
Scheduled exports always use the most recently published version of the dashboard. If you make edits to a dashboard that has an active schedule, those changes take effect on the next scheduled delivery without requiring you to update the schedule itself.
Sharing options
Email sharing
Send any dashboard, chart, or report directly to a colleague or client from within Qvista. Enter their email address, add an optional message, and click Send. Recipients receive a link to the live interactive dashboard or a static attachment, depending on the sharing option you choose.Shareable links
Generate a secure link to any published dashboard and share it through any channel — email, chat, a project management tool, or a company intranet page. Recipients who open the link access the full interactive dashboard in their browser without needing a Qvista account.- View-specific links: Generate a link that opens the dashboard pre-loaded with a specific saved View, so the recipient immediately sees the filter configuration and layout most relevant to them.
- Link expiry: Set an expiry date on any shareable link. After that date, the link stops working and recipients are shown an access-expired message.
- Password protection: Optionally require a password to open a shareable link, adding an extra layer of security for sensitive reports.
Embedded widgets
Embed any chart or full dashboard into an external website, intranet portal, or BI tool. Qvista generates an<iframe> or JavaScript embed snippet that you paste directly into your platform’s HTML.
Embedded widgets are fully interactive — visitors can apply filters, switch saved Views, and use drill-down navigation without ever opening Qvista directly. Access is controlled by the same role-based permissions you set on the underlying dashboard.
Interactive sharing and collaboration
When you share a dashboard via a shareable link or embed, recipients get the full interactive experience — not a static snapshot.- Apply filters: Recipients can use all filter controls — date pickers, dropdowns, and multi-select slicers — to focus on the data slice most relevant to them.
- Use drill-downs: Any drill-down paths you configured on charts are available to recipients. They can click into chart elements to explore underlying detail.
- Switch saved Views: If the dashboard has multiple named Views, recipients can switch between them using the View Selector.
- Cross-chart interaction: Clicking an element in one chart filters the other charts on the same dashboard, giving recipients the same exploratory experience you have as the dashboard author.
Interactive features in shared dashboards are read-only for recipients with the Viewer role. They can explore and filter the data freely, but their selections do not persist after they close the browser tab and do not affect what other viewers see.
Role-based access controls on shared reports
Use Qvista’s role-based access system to control exactly what each recipient can do with a shared dashboard or report.| Role | View content | Apply filters | Export data | Edit dashboard | Manage sharing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Viewer | ✅ | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ | ❌ |
| Editor | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ❌ |
| Owner | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
Version control and report history
Qvista maintains a history of exported reports and dashboard states so you can track how your data and visualizations have evolved over time.- Export log: Every export — whether triggered manually or by a schedule — is logged with a timestamp, the user or schedule that initiated it, and the format used. Access the log from the Export History panel on any dashboard.
- Download previous exports: Re-download any previously generated export file directly from the Export History panel without regenerating it. This is useful for auditing, comparing metrics across periods, or recovering a version sent before a data correction.
- Dashboard version history: Every saved change to a dashboard is stored as a version. Open the History panel to view a chronological list of versions, preview any previous state, and restore it as the current published version if needed.
